Grant Program Description:
During the 2024-2025 school year, Blue Zones Project Yuba Sutter will award 3 one-time grants up to $2,000 each to public or charter K-12 schools in Yuba Sutter supporting a new or existing edible educational garden located at the school site. Applicants must be Blue Zones approved schools or in the process of becoming a Blue Zones approved school. The goal is to support the development and sustainability of edible educational school gardens and, in doing so, raise awareness of Blue Zones Power 9 Principles of Plant Slant, Purpose, Move Naturally, Belong and Positive Pack.
Grant Timeline:
Application deadline: Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 5pm PT
Review Period: October 30, 2024 through December 1, 2024
Notification to all applications: Tuesday, December 10, 2024
Fund Restrictions: If awarded, the grant funds may only be used to support the edible educational school garden at the applying school.
If your school is selected to receive a grant, you will be notified no later than December 10, 2024.
Eligibility:
The Blue Zones Project Yuba Sutter School Grant Opportunity (the “Grant Program”) is open to public or charter K-12 schools in Yuba Sutter (zip codes:95991,95993.95901 or 95961), that are either Blue Zones Project approved or working towards approval to be completed in the 2024-2025 school year. (“Participants”). All applicable federal, state, and local rules apply. By entering, Participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the final decision of the Sponsor, which shall be made in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
AWARD SELECTION: Three (3) applicants will be selected to each receive a one-time up to $2,000 grant to support their edible school garden. Grant recipients will be notified on Monday, December 10, 2024.
AWARDS: Each of the three winning schools will be awarded a one-time up to $2,000 grant (the “Award” or the “Grant”). Those school awarded a Grant may only use the funds to support the edible, educational school garden at the winning school.
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Participant and Sponsor in connection with the Grant Program, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Sponsor as listed in these Official Rules, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Sponsor as listed in these Official Rules or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Sponsor as listed in these Official Rules. This Grant Program is governed by the laws of the State of Sponsor as listed in these Official Rules, with jurisdiction and venue in County of State of Sponsor as listed in these Official Rules and all claims must be resolved in the courts of County of State of Sponsor as listed in these Official Rules.
