What's a Walking Moai Team?
The term "moai" (pronounced mow-eye) comes from Okinawa, Japan. It means "meeting for a common purpose." Walking Moai Teams are groups of 5 to 8 people that meet at least once a week for 10 weeks to walk throughout the community, either virtually or physically distanced.

With a Walking Moai Team, staying healthy is easier and more fun. Teams spend time together to build or strengthen friendships while tracking their steps as they explore their neighborhoods. Many of your colleagues have already joined a team, don’t miss out on the excitement!

How do I join a Walking Moai Team and what should I expect if I join a team?
Attend the virtual launch event to join a team based on your shared interests and your availability to walk each week. As a team you will determine when and how, virtually or physically distanced, you will walk for 10 weeks. Your team leader will track and report your team's progress.

Each participant will receive a Blue Zones Project t-shirt. Each team will be eligible to win prizes, which will be awarded upon completing 10 weeks of walking together at a Finish Line Celebration event.
